The Alzhéimer Galicia Federation celebrated this Saturday the Solidarity Walk on the occasion of World Alzheimer's Day, which began at 11h on Monte do Gozo in Santiago de Compostela. More than 200 people attended this event, which brought together relatives of people with alzhemer and workers from Galician associations, and included in the campaign "Remember who I am" launched by the federation to claim the rights of people with Alzheimer's and their caregivers.

The event was inaugurated by the Regional Minister of Social Policy, José Manuel Rey Varela, the Regional Minister of Health, Jesús Vázquez Almuíña, the Deputy Mayor of Santiago, Maria Rozas, and the President of FAGAL, Juan Carlos Rodríguez Bernárdez. The head of the social policy department detailed the government's intention to continue developing new resources for people with alzheimer's disease in the coming year. For its part, the Regional Minister of Health stressed the importance of working together to improve the care of those affected. Finally, the councilor of Santiago reiterated the commitment of the city council in the collaboration with the federation and the association AGADEA.

The walk covered the 5.5km that separates Monte do Gozo with the Park of Bonaval, where at the end of the walk, at 13h, an institutional event was held in the Memory Space, location in memory of those affected by the disease and their families and inaugurated in 2016.

After the act, the attendees went towards the south zone of the Park, where they were able to continue the festive day enjoying a meal enlivened with the performance of the Tuna. In addition, attendees were able to join the #RecordaQuenSon campaign, taking photos in a photocall installed for the occasion.
