Mission
Federación Alzhéimer Galicia's mission is improving the quality of life of those affected by Alzheimers disease and other dementias and also the life of their caregivers. To do this, the federation works to strengthen the Asociaciones de Familiares de Personas con Alzhéimer y Otras Demencias (Associations for Family Members of People with Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias) – AFAs– from Galicia, and collaborate to generate changes in society for these persons and their families.
Vision
Federación Alzhéimer Galicia wants to be a strong, united, model organization, open to the needs of all the people affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias and their caregivers to give a comprehensive answer. It also wants to boost the creation of resources and the development of social and clinical research.
Values
Solidarity: From Federación Alzhéimer Galicia, we help both users and their families through voluntary work as well as training, information and awareness courses in different organizations.
Social commitment: We promote the understanding of this disease and pursue the society's involvement in our fight against it.
People's dignity: Federación Alzhéimer Galicia seeks the dignity of people with dementia and their families’, avoiding stigma and exclusion that have a long-term effect on them.
Honesty and excellence: In Federación Alzhéimer Galicia we make an efficient work recognized by other entities, being transparent before all interested groups and before society.
Networking: The federation believes it is important creating operational synergies between member entities and other entities that share the same values and objectives.
