After the announcement made last Friday, May 29, of the agreement of the Government Council of the Xunta de Galicia for which the opening of the day centers was delayed until September, a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Alzheimer Galicia Federation was called to assess the impact of this decision on people with dementia and their families.
The Board of Directors was very concerned about the consequences of the absence of therapeutic care for people with dementia and the situation in which the caregiving families find themselves, understanding that this decision maintains a situation of high health and social cost for longer.
In order to take into account all the perspectives of the associations, it was called a meeting of their presidencies in which they shared the same concerns and it was decided to issue the statement that you can find on the right margin of this same page.
