Federación Alzhéimer Galicia, through member organizations, carries out different programs for people with Alzheimer’s and neurodegenerative dementia such as:

SOCIAL AND HEALTH CARE PROGRAMS IN DAY-CARE CENTERS
This daytime program is meant for people with neurodegenerative dementia and it offers various non-pharmacological therapies to delay the symptoms of the disease and maintain functional abilities as long as possible. Its main work areas are assistance, guidance, language, memory, executive functions and social abilities. With this program we also provide respite care for main caregivers.

CARE PROGRAM FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE WITH COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT OR SPECIAL NEEDS
This program has the objective of preventing the progress of cognitive impairment in early stages in people with neurodegenerative dementia. Cognitive and psychomotor stimulation workshops from a neuropsychological rehabilitation perspective are carried out with that purpose, consisting in doing practical exercises that make active participation easier and have an impact on different cognitive areas (memory, language, concentration, reasoning...)

PROGRAM TO USE TECHNOLOGY AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (ASSISTIVE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES THAT FAVOR PERSONAL AUTONOMY)
This home specific intervention program is focused on improving the quality of life of the person with dementia and the family’s, adapting spaces, getting rid of architectural barriers and advising on the use of technical assistance and care strategies, encouraging personal autonomy and avoiding overloading the caregiver.

RED PARAGUAS ALZHÉIMER DE ATENCIÓN RURAL (RURAL ALZHEIMER UMBRELLA NETWORK) PROGRAM
Since 2013, this program provides individual specialized care for people with neurodegenerative dementia through different memory units across Galicia's rural areas while main caregivers take part in a training cycle. These memory units deal with every cognitive area in order to maintain the affected person's autonomy as long as possible and maintain the preserved abilities.
